Send us your apocalyptic graphical story until January 31st, 2021.

The year 2020 resembles some of the best apocalyptic novels out there. However we believe that the reality will never win over a good fiction. Now it is your chance to prove this statement. Make an “end of the world” story of your own and get it published in a Royal Dirties anthology. Whether your story is about planets-eating armadillos, world turning into a painting, extinction of flowers or end of a personal world, it is up to you.

This competition is for comics and graphical novels authors. Only finished (drawn) works are accepted. Whether it’s coloured or B/W depends entirely on you.

There are multiple winners, your odds are really high. In the end the jury will choose a set of stories that will be published as a printed comic book. Every winner will be paid €100 for their published story.

Do you have any questions about the competition? Read through this frequently asked questions. If you still can’t find what you are looking for, feel free to ask in a Royal Dirties Contest club.

What if I didn’t make it until deadline?

If you don’t think you can make it on time, feel free to send us your work-in-progress story a the proposal how you are going to finish it. The jury can take into account the current state of your work and possibility that you will finish the story before the publication of the book.

How many winners will there be?

The jury is going to select the best stories among the submissions. Even though there is no limit for the maximum count of the stories, there is a limit of total book pagecount. We cannot and don’t want to select every story sent to us. In our last Real Heroes competition 14 stories have been chosen.

What is the price for the winners?

Best stories sent to the End of the world comic competition will be awarded 100€ and get published in an anthology. The ETA for publication is late 2021. The ETA for price money is ASAP.

What exactly do you mean by End of the World?

There is nothing we mean exactly. We will accept any* comic or graphical story that somehow revolves around the topic End of the World. Whether it’s end of character’s inner world or end of your fictional fantasy world, your story will be accepted.

My older story fits the topic. Can I submit it to the competition?

You can send us any your previously created stories if you didn’t license them already to another publisher. For obvious reasons we cannot publish or reward any stories that have already licensed to somebody else. If you have already published your story yourself on any public artists’ pages (deviantart, webtoons, behance etc.) you still can submit it to the competition.
